“What is the meaning of life?”
Everyone has asked themselves this question at some point in their lives. Varying questions include: “How did we get here? “and “Are all of our efforts pointless?”
Whether you’re religious or scientific, we can all come down to one answer…. we exist.
We exist. We are present. No matter how we got here, whether we were created by a God or we were poofed into existence, we’re still living our everyday lives. Of course what you’re doing isn’t pointless. The word pointless is weird anyways… it just reminds me of a broken pencil.
There is a meaning behind every word you speak and action you take. Whether you see it or not- every little thing that you do matters. We grow up, we make friends, we find jobs, and we have families of our own. We all come from a city, a suburb, or a countryside. We’re all experiencing our lives on a tiny little planet of dirt and water floating in the Milky Way. (Notice how I only named our galaxy because there are still thousands of other galaxies yet to be explored.) So of course, at some point in your life, you’re going to feel small and insignificant about your purpose. It’s natural, oddly enough.
But think about it this way: your family, the friends that you make, and the family that you get to create? That makes up a tiny universe within itself. A universe filled with stars so bright and warm that it can make you feel HUGE. Bursting with stardust so that the words insignificant and pointless never have to cross your mind again!
I mean yeah, only a small fraction of space has been discovered. But isn’t it amazing knowing that you have a tiny universe of your own that you can explore? And get this, it’s still growing. Find the people that make you feel bright, monumental, out-of-this-world… and keep them.
