One of the most dedicated and entertaining beauty Youtubers, in my opinion, let’s talk about KathleenLights!

Kathleen Fuentes, better known through her Youtuber name KathleenLights, is a 24 year old beauty guru/vlogger from Miami Florida. Starting her channel back in January of 2013, Kathleen currently has over 2.4 millions subscribers to her name. She has made her own makeup collaborations with Colourpop Cosmetics and is planning an upcoming collaboration with MakeupGeek as well.

But what is it about Kathleen that sets her apart from the rest of the beauty gurus out there? For me, it is her candid and open nature that she consistently holds with her audience. Kathleen is a truly passionate individual who says what’s on her mind and never holds back her true opinions about the products she reviews on her channel. She has a vast makeup collection, showcasing a wide range of products both high-end and drugstore prices alike. I can speak from personal experience in saying that every product that I have purchased through her recommendations has been completely reliable and trustworthy! She loves makeup, and she is very dedicated to it. She has made this a true career for herself, even though she still simply calls her huge success a “hobby” (in her naturally humble fashion).

Beyond her vast knowledge about beauty products and her likable and candid personality, another aspect that sets KathleenLights aside from other youtubers is the “KatChats” segment of her channel. This segment started off as being very lightheartedly, with Kathleen talking about everything from clubbing experiences to boy problems, but two videos on her channel specifically stand out with a truly personal nature. In these videos, Kathleen chose to share with her viewers about her struggles with anxiety. In the first video about this topic, titled “My Anxiety Story”, she tells us in great detail how she developed anxiety. She did not leave out a single detail, it feels as if she was almost talking to a close friend of hers, as she even began to tear up a little. Upon watching this video, I found myself tearing up as well. As someone who also struggles with mental health issues, I can recognize just how important videos like this are. Kathleen then proceeded to recent upload a second video of this nature, following up with talking about her fears, including her struggles with travel and transportation in general. Just as candid as the first, Kathleen ends the video saying, “I know this may sound messy and incoherent, but if this video reaches out to even just one person, I’ve done my job.” Well, I think I can speak for most people when I say you’ve done your job, Kathleen.

Needless to say, KathleenLights is truly a favorite of mine and if you have not subscribed to her, please do yourself a favor. You will not be disappointed.
