Inspired by the change in season, I came up with this piece. I hope you all enjoy!

I fell for you like leaves on a crisp fall morning,

All the signs were there, but still no warning.

It started gradually, but then it was quick,

Before I knew it, I was a thin, naked stick.

Day after day, I continued to fall,

Into a tree so bare, lanky, and tall.

I changed for you, but it still wasn’t enough,

Claimed you loved me, but I’m calling your bluff.

I lost all of me changing for you,

I guess the love you had for me was never really true.
