Temporary. Forever. Short-term. Long-term.

Often times, people get wrapped up in too many temporary things. I realized this now more than ever- especially being in college.

  • Hooking up with people at parties
  • Getting the perfect grade on an exam
  • Heart break over people that never deserved your heart
  • Being the center of a performance
  • Losing at a game
  • Feeling ugly because of a pimple or because you gained some weight over the semester
  • Ect.
  • No one is going to judge you for hooking up with different people- or at least I’m not but be careful.
  • Your grades don’t really matter unless you’re going to medical school or if you’re under a scholarship. As my best friend says, “It’s not about the grades you make but the hands you shake.”
  • Protect your heart.
  • There will be other opportunities to perform.
  • There will be other opportunities to play.
  • Don’t fall off your cleansing routine and make time to work out (even if it’s for 15 min.)

Because we’re in college, we all have this idea that we need to party and hook up with different people now before we have to find a job and settle down. We all get so wrapped up in this hook-up culture, looking good, being perfect, etc.

The way I see it, you have from grade school until college to find your forever people. The people that will stand by you no matter what, through thick or thin, and understand you for your true self.
Spend time building relationships with your forever people- these are the people that matter the most.

If you think about it, you go through a lot of bullshit growing up. People can be unreliable. People can betray you. People can leave with no explanation. People change. It’s because of this that it takes so long to find your forever people and develop those personal connections with them- in one way or another.

Yes, once you graduate college, you’re going to have to find a job and settle down. But what happens when you realize that you’ve spent all of your time on temporary people and things? You won’t have anything to last.

Don’t waste your time over temporary things or people.

Spend time with your forever people and create memories with them that’ll last a lifetime. In the end, life is so much more than temporary people and materialistic things.
